Water & electricity when electricity goes out:

Follow the checklist below and accompanying videos to get electricity for the computer, eftpos and internet.  And then for water at Seaview and Horizon.

Seaview :

Power to office for phone, computer, WiFi and cc machines:

  1. Go to tool shed
  2. Generator lives on the ground on the left ¾ the way in > wheel it to just outside the tool shed
  3. Start generator:
    1. Turn large dial on the side to ‘Cold Start/Choke’
    2. Pull starter cord – should start quite easily on 1st – 3rd pull
    3. Once running – turn large dial to ‘Run/Restart’
  4. ** IGNORE this point ** Unplug phone system from power point on left side wall of shed > plug into generator
  5. Plug long orange extension lead into generator > run into reception > over top of divider wall
  6. Ensure extension lead has a double adapter at this end
  7. Unplug power board with internet hardware connected to it and plug into extension lead

Seaview – Petrol water pump

  1. Go to pump shed under Nut view Lounge Bar – door at corner across from room 1
  2. Petrol pump is down in the pit, closest to water tank on the left
  3. To the right hand side of pump:
    1. Ensure switch is ‘on’
    2. Ensure petrol supply switch is ‘on’
    3. Ensure choke lever is ‘on’
  4. Pull starter cord – should start easily on 1st – 3rd pull
  5. Turn choke lever to ‘off’
  6. Prop door open for ventilation

Horizon

Power for water pump and gas hot water heaters for Tatlow & Godfrey

  1. Collect Horizon shed key from reception
  2. Go to small green shed on lawn near Godfrey
  3. Unlock door and secure it open so it doesn’t flap around
  4. Plug long orange extension lead into generator and run across lawn to Godfrey hot water heater (don’t go straight across car park in case cars drive over it)
  5. Take cover off Godfrey and Tatlow hot water heaters, unplug power cords and connect to extension lead
  6. Start generator:
    1. Turn dial on front to ‘choke’
    2. Press and hold orange start button until it starts
    3. Turn dial to ‘On’
    4. ** IF electric start doesn’t work – use the pull cord
  7. Go to green ‘electrical cupboard’ – next to garden shed
  8. Flick ‘Water Pump” switch from ‘Normal’ to ‘generator’
  9. Shut door

Rose’s Villa – garage door operation when power is out

Assuming the door is fully down.

  1. As per instructions on red rope hanging from door
  2. Gently pull rope toward the door, which releases it from the motor (and makes a pretty loud noise).
  3. Now can operate door manually.
  4. To re-engage the motor – ensure door is all the way down.
  5. Gently pull red rope back away from the door (1 or 2 clicks?)
  6. Test with remote control

Rose’s Villa – connecting the generator when power is out

Generator is located inside storage room in garage.

It will run all lights, plus power points at island bench and kettle in kitchen.

  1. Open garage roller door  (see video for operation when power out).
  2. Move generator outside garage door.
  3. Place side with starter pull rope – closest to building but with a bit of a gap (means exhaust fumes go away from building).
  4. There are instructions on top of generator, but this list/video should be best.
  5. Check it has fuel (unleaded)
  6. Check – ‘engine SW” button (control panel side) switch is on
  7. Check fuel switch is on
  8. Check choke lever is on
  9. Pull cord to start
  10. When running – turn choke lever back to ‘run’
  11. Connect power lead to inlet socket inside left hand side of roller door (it has a plastic cover to lift)
  12. Close garage door to block noise and fumes.

When power comes back on:

  1. Turn “engine SW” switch off and then back on again ready for next use
  2. Turn choke lever back to choke
  3. Pack away
